Eclipses are cosmic events that invite us to go beneath the surface, to explore hidden realms, and to heal karmic patterns from our past. This month's total solar eclipse is aligned with the harmonious and balancing energy of Libra, encouraging us to seek equilibrium within ourselves and establish peace through addressing the imbalances in our lives. As we find ourselves within the season of letting go, this ceremony invites you to introspect and release burdens, fears, and accumulated attachments.

Our plant allies, hapé and sananga, will support us in connecting with the deeper aspects of ourselves and gain clarity on what part of our lives are ready to be transformed. These allies will also help us to deepen our connection with the natural world and facilitate the release of old patterns and energies. There will also be a special herbal tea blend for us to sip on throughout the evening to support our healing journey.

What is Hapé?

Hapé is a sacred tobacco snuff  that is curated with medicinal plants, leaves, trees and seeds from native lands in a labor intensive, ceremonial way by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon. The tobacco harvested is not grown for commercial use or genetically modified, thus it does not contain high amounts of nicotine. The Native People greatly revere Tobacco as a Grandfather medicine, full of ancient wisdom and the ability to carry prayers to the creator. Hapé is a powerful plant ally that is often used for purification, protection and deep connection to the spirits, animals, and Mother Earth. An experience of sitting with hape can offer powerful healing for the body, mind, and soul.

What is Sananga?

Sananga is a traditional Amazonian plant medicine that is usually taken in the form of eye drops. It is derived from the roots of either the Tabernaemontana undulata plant (milkwood) or the Tabernaemontana sananho plant (dogbane). Sananga is primarily used to treat a number of eye diseases and to improve vision, but is also used to gain deeper insight, enhance intuition, and to cleanse the mind and body.
